There are times in the year when we actually feel like sipping throughout the day. Summer, right?

Due to this, we end up drinking colas and other preservative-laden pack juices which might give a cooling effect for a while but eventually bring health problems.

7 Tasty & Healthy Refreshing Drinks to Make Under a minute.

So, for this article, I have researched and compiled seven drinks which are homemade, yet practical, healthy yet super tasty, cooling yet so simple. 

These drinks are so easy to make that some of them can be made under 30 seconds. Yes, you heard that right under 30 seconds. 

So, I present to you seven no-excuse drinks for summer. Stay tuned. 

Starting with number seven on the list is – 

Sattu Sharbat

Sattu is simply roasted gram (roasted black chickpeas) ground into a fine powder, which is consumed mostly in Uttar Pradesh & Bihar states of India.

In fact, Litti & Chokha (Wheat Dough with roasted gram filled inside & mashes potato w/ spices) is originated from there only.

Sattu is also used as a filling in Parathas, called Sattu Paratha in many Indian homes.

Sattu is about 20% protein by weight and contains calcium, iron, manganese, magnesium all essentials in overall nourishment of the body. 

To make Sattu Sharbat, In a glass put 4-5 teaspoons of Sattu powder. 

Pour about 250 ml of water, a pinch of black salt, and squeeze half a lemon. 

Mix well and your Sattu sharbat is ready. 

If you are fatigued by heat and drained by the Sun there is nothing better than Sattu. 

It instantly cools down the body and gives a burst of health and energy. Sattu sharbat is also great for the skin. 

Number 6 – 

Gondh Shikanji

Who doesn’t love drinking Nimbu Pani (Lemonade) in summers? 

But did you know that adding just one more ingredient literally doubles its benefits and that ingredient is Gondh Kateera or Edible Gum.

Take 200 ml of water, sweeten it with 2 teaspoons of Mishri powder. 

Now squeeze the juice from one lemon in it. 

Add a pinch of black pepper and a pinch of black salt. 

Finally mix 2 tablespoons of Gondh in it. That’s all. 

To get fluffed Gondh, you just need to take half a TSP of Gondh and keep it soaked then water for a few hours.

This drink will not only prevent you from heat strokes but Gondh is known to reduce any kind of weaknesses in the body. 

It’s a natural energy drink and tastes delicious too, just give it a try.

Number 5 is a – 

Cucumber Cooler.

If your goal is to cut down the extra weight from the body and beat the heat at the same time, then cucumber cooler is the drink for you. 

Simply, Take one Cucumber chopped, add lemon juice, a pinch of black salt, a pinch of jeera powder, half a glass of water and blend. That’s all. 

If you want you can strain it although I recommend you drink it as it is, as it is full of fibre, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. 

The cooling properties of cucumber are well known. 

This spiced cucumber juice tastes so refreshing, try it out.

Number 4 – 

Kachi Lassi

Kachi Lassi is an authentic refreshing cool drink from Punjab. 

Seriously, it’s hard to imagine summer passing without a glass of Kachi Lassi. 

It is probably the only lassi recipe in which instead of curd, milk is used. 

Take about 30 to 40 ml of milk, mix 1 tablespoon of Mishri powder and fill rest of the glass with water. 

That’s it, Kachi Lassi is ready. 

Have you ever seen charity stalls serving refreshing drinks roadside? Mostly, its Kachi Lassi. 

Super easy to make, yet supercooling for the body.

Watermelon Mint Cooler

As the name suggests this watermelon and mint based drink is an instant coolant for the body. It’s amazingly delicious too.

Take some diced watermelon (1 bowl) and add a few mint leaves, simply blend them and your instant watermelon mint coolant is ready.

The combination of watermelon and mint has a refreshing taste of its own which is worth a try. 

It is one of my all-time favourite drinks, something which I prefer drinking when my body is dehydrated.

Number two on the list is –

Jal Jeera

If you are suffering from any digestion-related issues, then choose Jal jeera as your cooling drink. 

A powerful concoction of herbs and spices, Jal jeera removes the excess heat from the body and cleanse the digestive tract. 

In a blending jar, take some mint leaves, add half a teaspoon of roasted cumin powder, 1/4 teaspoon of black salt, 1/4 teaspoon of rock salt, a pinch of black pepper, a pinch of asafoetida, a little water and blend it.

Now take about 2 glasses of water, sweeten it with jaggery powder. 

Sprinkle the juice of one lemon in it & mix well.

Now add the Jal jeera mixture in it. 

Stir well and your Jal jeera is ready to be served.

This Jal jeera is not only hydrating but also an excellent source of iron. 

And yes, it can replace the best digestive pill in the market.

Finally, Number one is – 

Bel Sharbat

One of the most popular drinks to beat the heat, especially in the northern part of India is Bel ka Sharbat. 

Bel, a medicinal fruit is well known for its amazing health benefits. 

To make Bel sharbat, break open the bel fruit, scrape out the pulp with the help of a knife or spoon. 

Add a glass of water to the pulp. 

Now using your hands mix the pulp properly. 

Then strain the extra pulp and seeds out. 

You can add more water according to your liking. 

Sweeten it with jaggery powder and mix well. Your Bel sharbat is ready.

Bel sharbat has its own peculiar taste.

Nevertheless, it instantly cools down the body and refreshes you from within.
